Manage the Deli and Bakery focusing on product quality and freshness, price, and value for customers. This shall all be done by a candidate who demonstrates strong merchandising and multi-tasking skills. Knowledge of products such as deli meats, sandwiches, cheese, various baked goods and food preparation is expected. Restaurant and culinary skills are a plus, enjoying working with food is a must.
This is a full-time Deli-Bakery Manager position involving the management and quality control of the deli/bakery categories and programs. Will oversee this department by managing weekly pricing, gathering input on products, and negotiate prices with vendors. Will be expected to provide exceptional service, maintain a keen sense of urgency, and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a variety of employees. Candidate must be able to work with the management team to accomplish common goals and service levels. He/she shall be expected to negotiate for the maximization of truckload buys, forward buys, invoice protection, extended terms, and new item introductions. Candidate shall be responsible for addressing product issues, price issues, and inventory management; all in an effort to maximize sales and profit potential. Must work closely with other department managers to control waste by creatively producing deli offerings by incorporating perishable items close to code. A solid understanding of proper food safety and handling in accordance with NYS Department of Health requirements.
Weekend, evening, and holiday work will be required in this position.
